What does a Spyderco Bug really feel like to own? And, being so small, are they actually useful?

Hello Lurch,

Just thought I’d drop a few words to tell you about the Spyderco Bug I recieved from your good self a while back.

It sat for a wee while in one of my book cases in it’s little presentation box looking cute amongst all the other mini blades shown there, but I felt it had to fullfill it’s little purpose.

At 2 7/8″ (73mm) long with a blade length of 1 5/16″ (33mm) it was never going to be a main belt blade, so I threaded a little bead chain (like “Action Man’s” dog tags used to come on) through the little hole in the handle and put that on a leather lace around my neck – I didn’t want to throttle myself.

It’s now one of my daily carries and outperforms many other tools with great ease. [..read more..]
